Westerville Alumni (in particular the WHS Class of 1974) and Friends:

Dave Lozano, a 1974 graduate of Westerville High School underwent a heart valve replacement surgery on November 17, 2011. He and his wife, Jane (Olmstead) Lozano, also a WHS graduate, have dealt with the severity of this condition for years. The original valve replacement was over 11 years ago and there is little doubt this surgery came in the nick of time and saved his life. Since that time they have encountered medical and surgical complications that most families cannot imagine. Dave has returned home recently to recover but remains under a watchful eye with scheduled appointments both inside and outside of the home.

Dave and Jane are the proud parents of 2 adult children. Jane took leave from her job to keep watch over Dave and the extended hospital stayundefinedtheir oldest child, David, has taken leave from college to assist in the care giving responsibilities. Dave had been hospitalized since November and as can be imagined, the mounting medical bills and time off work have resulted in an enormous strain for them.

Hopefully the WHS family will be able to take some of the stress off the family allowing Dave to begin his long recovery with less worry of financial burdens.
